Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from Kampala (or Entebbe). The scenic drive takes you through the rolling hills of Western Uganda, fertile farmlands, and charming roadside communities.
Enjoy lunch en route and take the opportunity to stop for photographs as you pass through Kabale or Kisoro, known for their breathtaking landscapes.
Upon arrival at Bwindi, check in at your lodge — options range from luxury, mid-range, to budget-friendly accommodations, all nestled within or near the rainforest.
Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the thrilling trek ahead. Tonight, you’ll fall asleep surrounded by the mysterious sounds of the African jungle — home to half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Rise early for breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers. You’ll be assigned a gorilla family group to track and begin your trek through thick rainforest terrain.
The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas, and it’s led by experienced rangers who will guide you safely through the forest.
Once you locate your assigned gorilla family, spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants — watching them feed, play, and interact in their natural environment. It’s an awe-inspiring, humbling experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.
After your trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest and a hearty lunch. Spend the evening relaxing or taking a short community walk to learn about local cultures, crafts, and conservation efforts.
Overnight: Same lodge as previous night
Day 3: Return to Kampala or Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe.
Enjoy scenic views along the way and stop for lunch in Mbarara or Igongo Cultural Centre, where you can sample Ankole cuisine and shop for souvenirs.
